Power service restored to Floridian customers affected by transformer failure

Florida, Nov. 14 – At the beginning of this week, the brigade of the Basic Electric Organization (OBE) of Florida managed to restore services to hundreds of customers in the residential sector of the municipality, who were affected by the tripping of energy transformer banks in their respective circuits.

According to the operations department of the Florida electric company, only one of the five transformers that were reestablished during these days was totally melted and had to be replaced by another equipment in good technical condition, which required moving one of these devices from another circuit of the municipality, as an alternative to the current lack of this technology.

The rest of the restored transformers did not present serious failures after tripping, which is happening more and more frequently nowadays due to the voltages generated in the local circuits by consumption overloads and the marked deterioration of this energy distribution infrastructure.

Specialists of the Operations Department of the Florida electric unit report that customers in the areas surrounding the rural community of Urabo, who have been affected since Thursday of last week as a result of a criminal act that disrupted a power substation in the municipality of Carlos Manuel de Céspedes, which distributes energy to some circuits in Florida, are still without service.
