Critical and self-critical spirit present in Floridian farmers’ balance process (+Post)

Espíritu crítico y autocrítico presente en proceso de balance de los campesinos floridanos

Florida, Oct. 15 – With the embarrassment of being included among the five entities of its kind most affected by crimes against livestock in the province of Camagüey, the members of the Cooperative of Credits and Services (CCS) Octavio Aragón Quiroz, in the municipality of Florida, dedicated a large part of their balance assembly prior to the XIII Congress of the National Association of Small Farmers (ANAP) to discuss, with transparency, how much remains to be done there to stop the actions of rustlers and criminals.

The detection of 47 acts of theft and slaughter of cattle so far this year was enough to call for the unity of the collective in order to achieve effectiveness in the fight against animal theft in this productive base, recognized for its current progress in tasks such as the delivery of milk and beef to the food industry.

The meeting of the Octavio Aragón farmers was attended by the highest authorities of the Communist Party and of the Government in Florida, together with officials of Agriculture, and others, who shared productive and internal operation results; claims, concerns and commitments of the associates of the entity.

The main agreements emanated from the balance assembly of the XIII ANAP Congress in the aforementioned CCS, referred to the completion of the planting of at least one hectare of various crops in each farm; to conclude the construction of the social infrastructure of the cooperative and to concretize the installation of a cold thermos to guarantee the milk collection.

In several interventions made during the meeting, Liliana Boudet Nápoles, first secretary of the Communist Party in Florida, updated the associates of Octavio Aragón on issues of the socioeconomic reality of the country, and defended the most important policies of the State to support food production and substitute imports.

The highest political leader of the municipality also shared the delivery of awards to the most outstanding producers in this agricultural cooperative, located in the town of La Juanita, in the southeastern part of the Florida territory.
