Florida, Oct. 9 – Some 574 first grade students in Florida participated in the ceremony of initiation to the José Martí Pioneers Organization and received the blue scarf that identifies them as Moncadistas, a symbol that will accompany them until the beginning of fourth grade.
The moment was appropriate for the schoolchildren to pay tribute to Ernesto Guevara de la Serna, Che, on the 57th anniversary of his physical death, as a clear sign of the historical continuity of a process that has the Guerrillero Heroico among its main icons and referents.
The event marked the beginning of the Camilo-Che ideological date; consecrated to remember these combatants, paradigms in which the new generations can find an example of humanity, ethics, justice and the exercise of the revolutionary practice.
The municipal act of initiation of pioneers took place in the educational institution of the primary level, Leonor Pérez Cabrera, with the presence of Alexey Cobo, member of the Party Bureau in the territory, Ariam García Rodríguez, deputy general director of Education and Niurka Turiño, head of primary education in Florida.
