Education Activities for Food Day began in Florida

Florida, Oct. 8 – Presided by the slogan «Right to food for a better life and future», the Education Activities for the World Food Day began this Monday in the educational sector of Florida, with a varied program of actions that will be developed in all school institutions until October 16.

According to José Andrés Vázquez Acevedo, School Health Advisor at the General Directorate of Education, this year the day will focus on healthy eating, with the intention of making visible the experiences related to a nutritional culture from the school itself to the family environment.

The program of activities foreseen for the occasion will promote the recognition of farmers of farms and school gardens, dieticians, school cooks, teachers and especially the students.

Workshops, art exhibitions, educational talks and special matinees, along with developmental classes with the use of audiovisual products and computer resources, based on healthy and nutritional food, are some of the activities on the day that will culminate with a special matinee on Wednesday 16 at the Leonor Perez Cabrera elementary school.
