Feliz Duarte Ortega presided over the XIII Congress of the Florida farmer cooperative (+Post)

Florida, Oct. 5 – Felix Duarte Ortega, president of the Asociación Nacional de Agricultores Pequeños (ANAP), participated this Friday in the Assembly of Balance of the XIII Congress of the farmers organization in the Credit and Services Cooperative (CCS) Saturnino Aneiro Abella, in the municipality of Florida.

Accompanied by the main authorities of the territory, the maximum farmer leader reflected on the challenges of the country in the sphere of food security, and consequently called on the more than 170 associates of the referred entity, and the rest of the Floridian agrarians, to fulfill with responsibility the tasks foreseen in the sowing, production and collection of food for the people, as their strategic assignment in the current situation.

The also member of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Cuba and the Council of State, witnessed the critical and self-critical analysis of the results of the «Saturnino Aneiro» and the role of its directing board in the previous period.

In the face of statements related to losses in the recent mango harvest, Duarte Ortega pointed out that «Floridian farmers must take much more advantage of the policies implemented by the Government to diversify productions and their destinations»; and called to strengthen the fight against the growth of crimes in cattle raising and asked for confidence in the advantages offered by the banking of Cuban society.

Before the closing of its balance assembly, the CCS Saturnino Aneiro collective held the election of pre-candidates and candidates for delegates to the 13th Congress and for leadership positions in the higher structures of the agrarian grouping, respectively.

As part of the day of exchange with farmers of the municipality of Florida, Felix Duarte Ortega also met with presidents and representatives of the 28 units of the sector, in an effort to align political and productive strategies to continue accompanying the Revolution in the trenches of defense and agricultural production.
