Florida, Sep. 26 – The Second Dose of the Influenza Vaccination Campaign for children from six months to one year, 11 months and 29 days concluded in the municipality of Florida with satisfactory results, according to Reinaldo Morín Báez, responsible for Chronic Non-Communicable Diseases in the territory.
On the other hand, the immunization of pregnant women, regardless of the trimester in which they are and the maternal age, is progressing at more than 60% of execution.
The responsible also mentioned that the immunization of adults over 85 years of age continues in the local Family Doctor’s offices.
Influenza is a contagious respiratory disease caused by influenza viruses that infect the nose, throat and in some cases, the lungs; therefore, the best way to prevent it is to get vaccinated every year.
The Influenza Vaccination Campaign in Florida concludes on October 5, so it is necessary that people included in the above mentioned groups go to the Vaccination Centers of the health areas to be immunized.
