Municipal Museum exhibits gifts given to Fidel Castro (+Post)

Florida, Aug. 15 – Gifts that were given to Fidel Castro Ruz during his lifetime are exhibited at the Municipal Museum in honor of the 98th anniversary of the birth of the historic leader of the Cuban Revolution.

The Florida Museum treasures in its collections, four objects of inestimable historical value belonging to the Commander in Chief that at different times were given to him by personalities, friends and admirers of his exemplary revolutionary trajectory.

After his death and by Fidel’s own decision, all these gifts were donated to several museums in the country, among them, to the Municipal Museum of Florida; one of the most significant pieces is a print of the leader of the Revolution that the Rosell family gave him on his birthday in 2016, shortly before his death, and other objects such as a statuette of the Commander that is exhibited as a sample of the month.

Some of these works were also exhibited through the mobile museum in popular councils and communities of the territory where the museologists develop activities during the current summer season, in salute to Fidel’s birthday and the 100 years of Florida as a municipality.
