Florida, July 30 – The need to strengthen the administrative management to attend to the people’s proposals, the role of the local government of Florida in the face of gender violence in the community and the priority of advancing in the fulfillment of the law of food sovereignty were among the topics most evaluated by the delegates of Florida in the XIV ordinary session of the Municipal Assembly of People’s Power.

Once again, district leaders expressed the need for a more objective and in-depth analysis of citizens’ proposals in the governing councils of the responsible entities, and for these administrative bodies to strengthen the link with the community to evaluate existing problems in the field and join efforts in the search for possible solutions together with the people.

In evaluating the integral strategy of the municipality for the social prevention of gender violence in this assembly session, a frank analysis was made in which even personal experiences on the impact of this phenomenon were exposed and it was recognized that from the work of the Popular Power more can be done in education to promote knowledge and values that stimulate respect for the rights of women, girls, adolescents and young people.

Likewise, the importance of persuasive, mobilizing and preventive work of community work groups was emphasized in order to better support and guide those who may be in need of counseling, attention and legal or psychological protection in the face of some of the deplorable macho behaviors that unfortunately still persist in our society.

In the most recent ordinary session of the Floridian Assembly of People’s Power, the state of compliance in the territory of the Food and Nutritional Sovereignty and Security Law was evaluated based on an audit report of the Commission of Productive Affairs of the governing body.

The aforementioned document points out that there is still a lack of hard work and insufficient state business management to make the most of the local production capacities, guarantee the contracting of most of the crops and agricultural productions and strengthen the administrative control for their subsequent commercialization to the people, in view of the need for more order, equity and fair prices.

Finally, the Floridian delegates approved the proposals for the Preliminary Draft of the Budget and Plan of the Economy of the municipality for the next year 2025, and also pointed out insurance issues for the development of the First Process of Accountability to their electors in the current term of Government, scheduled for the months of September, October and November of the present calendar.
