Florida, June 25 – More than 20 educational institutions and two pioneer facilities in the municipality of Florida are expected to host healthy and useful recreational activities during the summer months, whose official program begins this Saturday, June 29, and has the community as the center and main engine of initiatives and actions.
To use the free time of children, adolescents and young people with attractive cultural, sports, recreational, didactic and even productive proposals, is the purpose of the General Directorate of Education through the schedule designed for the months of July and August, in conjunction with the Culture and Sports Departments of the territory.
This year, it is expected to increase the influence of Education during the summer period with the implementation of activities in the educational institutions located in the different Popular Councils; likewise, the Enrique José Varona and Camilo Cienfuegos schools, together with the three children’s circles of the city, will welcome the children of working mothers.
The Education schedule for the summer period also includes activities at the Home for Minors without Family Protection, the Wabay Explorers’ Center and the Cándido González Pioneers’ Palace with interesting proposals in their programming; 14 summer courses will be given and diverse actions will be developed, among which stand out the commented readings, the presentation and sale of books, festivals and sport competitions.
