Florida, May 3 – The directive board of the Ignacio Agramonte y Loynaz Sugar Agroindustrial Enterprise, in the municipality of Florida, took stock of the needs of resources, priorities and plans for the fulfillment of the agreements reached during the visit of the first secretary of the Party and president of the Republic, Miguel Díaz-Canel Bermúdez, to that productive entity.
The commitment of the Ignacio Agramonte labor collectives includes the production of some 700 tons of Sorbitol, the introduction of a laboratory for processing and obtaining medicinal plant essences, the completion of the infrastructure and technology for the manufacture of fructooligosaccharide (FOS), and the planting of almost 500 hectares of sugar cane before the end of this year.
The meeting focused on the demands and guarantees of raw materials, and domestic and foreign support to achieve these goals within the planned period.
The exchange was accompanied by Carlos González Abreu, national director of Derivatives at Grupo Empresarial Azucarero Azcuba, and was attended by the highest authorities of the territory, headed by the first secretary of the Municipal Committee of the Liliana Party, Liliana Boudet Nápoles, and Evelyn Márquez Álvarez, president of the Assembly of People’s Power.
The extended session of the directive board of Empresa Agroindustrial Azucarera Ignacio Agramonte to analyze the progress of what was agreed with the Cuban president, also had as guests, advanced producers, heads of sugar cane units, political and trade union leaders of the province of Camagüey, of the company itself and of its subsidiary, Derivados del Sorbitol.
