Florida, April 20.- Student Leyanis González Fuentes, who is in her seventh semester at the Camilo Cienfuegos school for the improvement of youth and adults, from the municipality of Florida, won the Relevant award in the Municipal Contest I present my Book, held in the Rubén Martínez Villena public library.
The young woman competed with the presentation of the book Operation Peter Pan, by the authors Ramón Torreira Crespo and José Buaisan Marrawi, a work that is the result of a meticulous investigation carried out by two profound experts and students of the aggressive actions undertaken against Cuba for more than 60 years by the United States government.
Knowledge of the text presented, prior preparation, clear language and technical mastery were some of the aspects that the jury took into account when awarding the prize, as well as the experience transmitted on the subject by the school librarian Odalys Madrigal, who prepared to the student for the competition.
Students from the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela pre-university institute and the Lope Recio Loynaz basic secondary school were also highlighted in the contest and mentions were awarded to the representatives of the institutions Rolando Valdivia and José Martí.
The Municipal contest I Present my Book aims to interest readers and librarians in important works of Cuban and universal literature and to exchange work experiences on the techniques required to present a text, actions that are contemplated in the National Program for Reading.
