Florida, April 1 – Camping, special matinees, cultural galas, sports cups, amateur festivals and contests of the different manifestations of art are some of the activities carried out in the educational centers of the municipality of Florida to celebrate the 63rd birthday of the Organization of Pioneers José Martí (OPJM) and the 62nd birthday of the Union of Young Communists (UJC).
In the work centers where there is a structure of the youth organization, activities related to the celebration of the birthdays of both organizations, created to group the new pines of the Cuban nation, will be carried out.
At the municipal level, the commemoration will include a youth square in the city’s José Martí Park, and an expo-fair of industrial and agricultural products of the territory, while distinctions and awards will be given to pioneers and outstanding young people in their respective areas of action.
The OPJM, which brings together elementary and high school students, was founded in 1961 and, among other functions, works to develop interest in studying and a sense of social responsibility among its members.
For its part, the Union of Young Communists was born in 1962, its direct antecedent was the Association of Young Rebels (AJR), it is currently considered the vanguard political organization of Cuban youth, continuation of the Communist Party of Cuba and the main quarry for joining its ranks.
