Government Science and Technology Management Program Approved in Florida

Florida, March 23.- A Government Management Program for Science, Technology and Innovation based on the sustainable development of the territory was approved in a recent session of the Municipal Administration Council in Florida, with an eye on the local needs of produce more food, generate new economic income and improve the quality of life of the population.

The general objective of the program is aimed at increasing the obtaining of new knowledge and products, based on the introduction and generalization of the results of science and innovation in the processes and activities of the municipality, based on the link between the institutions, the business system and local government.

This Program that seeks to promote territorial development will be directed by the Municipal Administration Council and managed by the management of the Ignacio Agramonte Agroindustrial Sugar Company, together with a group of experts made up of specialists from the University of Camagüey, the Ministry of Science, Technology and Environment, from the provincial Center for Information and Technological Management, and representatives of the local government.

During the approval process of the aforementioned program, the highest political and government authorities of Florida highlighted, when evaluating this initiative, its potential to contribute to the improvement of the Government Management System based on science and innovation to improve responses to the local needs of produce more food, generate new economic income and improve the quality of life of the population.
