Florida agricultural and sugar workers participate in volunteer work day (+Audio and Post)

Florida, Feb. 20 – Workers of the Agriculture sector and of the Sugar Group, Azcuba, in the municipality of Florida, led the main tasks of the voluntary work day developed this Sunday in support to the production of several crops and the sowing of sugar cane in the territory.

Led by the administrative and union leaders of the Sugar Companies of the territory, dozens of men and women went to the furrow to carry out tasks of weeding the crops, weeding and harvesting the crops, cutting the cane and planting the grass in different places.

The troop of volunteers from Empresa Agroindustrial Azucarera Argentina concentrated in areas of the entity’s Registered Seed Bank, where they gathered more than 20 hectares covered with cassava, plantain, tomato, bean and okra, among other varieties of food; while the industrialists and farmers from Ignacio Agramonte dedicated the red Sunday to work in the lands of the Basic Production Unit Cooperative Las Marías, in missions of sugarcane recovery.

The delegation belonging to the Municipal Delegation of Agriculture and its dependencies arrived at the farm of the Floridian farmer Fidencio Rodríguez Maya, in the Agricultural Production Cooperative Carlos Díaz Cervantes, with the objective of voluntarily promoting the support of new tomato plantations in development.
