Florida, Feb. 10 – The Cuban government’s will to protect families in a state of vulnerability is manifested in the Housing Program, and a recent expression of this in the municipality of Florida was the free delivery of homes to 14 mothers with three or more children, to improve their living conditions.
This noble social assistance, which responds to the demographic policy of the country, demanded from the state budget about five million pesos, to pay for the purchase of each of the homes delivered for a value of 350 thousand pesos.
This is an alternative variant to the government program of financial subsidies for the construction of houses, in view of the Cuban State’s priority of promptly attending to the most vulnerable families who urgently need a home, in the midst of the current marked shortage of construction materials.
This is another clear expression of the Cuban government’s will to protect and provide differentiated attention to socially and economically disadvantaged families, although the current complex financial situation greatly limits guaranteeing this type of assistance to all those in need.
