Florida, Jan. 5 – At the Pedagogical Documentation and Information Center (CDIP), the awards ceremony of the municipal contest Sabe Más Quién Lee Más (Know More Who Reads More) took place, this time dedicated to José Martí, 171 years after his birth, and to the historical leader of the Cuban Revolution, Fidel Castro Ruz.
The winners of the contest, whose purpose is to promote reading from an early age, foster culture and, at the same time, highlight the work of important writers, were Marianna Fleites Salomón, from José Martí elementary school; Mayara Duquezne Pérez, from José Martí junior high school; Karen García Rodríguez, from República Bolivariana de Venezuela high school; Leonardo Casas Pérez, from Sabino Pupo agricultural and livestock polytechnic; and Cristian de Jesús Solís Flores, from José Luis Tassende de las Muñecas special school.
The jury, presided by Master Magda Pereira Álvarez, Libraries methodologist at the General Directorate of Education of Florida, and integrated by methodologists, school librarians and specialists of the municipal CDIP, was in charge of the analysis and selection of the works that will represent the territory in the provincial contest, scheduled to take place in the city of Agramontina this February.
The Sabe Más Quien Lee Más contest is organized by the Ministry of Education, the School Library System, the National Reading Program and student organizations, and will be held in the city of Agramontina this February.
