Florida Municipal Center for Medical Genetics contributes to the Maternal and Child Program

Florida, January 29.- During the past year, the Municipal Center for Medical Genetics developed strategic work in defense of the happiness and quality of life of Floridian families, through assistance to the Maternal and Child Care Program and to patients with diseases of chromosomal alteration.

Despite the resource and other latent limitations in the Public Health sector, during this stage the aforementioned entity maintained important services such as preconception, prenatal, and postnatal care, among others, in response to the needs of the people.

Based on the execution of some 1,600 consultations for pregnant and lactating women, which included around 2,200 analyzes with ultrasound technology, the Florida Municipal Center for Medical Genetics warned of risks in assuming pregnancy, detected mutations in time in DNA and contributed to the prevention and early detection of diseases of this type in children under one year of age.

Likewise, they guaranteed the study and ratification of the diagnosis of conditions related to changes in the microcellular development of the organism.
