Florida, January 10.- Two boxers from the municipality of Florida make up the Camagüey Boxing squad that will seek its XI team crown in the Playa Girón National Tournament, based in the city of Sancti Espíritus from this Tuesday until the 14th of the current month.
Damián Estrada Rosell, in the 51 kilogram division, and Maruán Roque Ramírez in the 80 kilo division, will be the ones who will represent the Florida sports movement in the strong Cuban boxing tournament.
Professor Amaury Campanioni, a Floridian coach who today works at the Provincial Boxing Academy, reports that for Maruán this will be his second Playa Girón event, and also explains that in the case of Damián he will be making his debut in the national tournament, after rejoining high performance training just three months ago.
The organizers explain that this contest organized in the province of Spiritus opens the critical route towards the Olympic games assigned to the French capital, and constitutes the beginning of competitive preparation, both for those already classified, Saidel Horta, Arlen López and Julio César La Cruz , as well as for those who intend to provide the four remaining places.
