Farmer leader toured Florida farms linked to the agroecological productive movement

Florida, December 12.- A hand placed on a farmer’s shoulder gives more results than a ton of fertilizers.

With this premise, representatives of the National Committee of the Association of Small Farmers took a tour of peasant farms linked to the agroecological productive movement in the Amparo Carriera Montes Credit and Services Cooperative and in the Abel Santamaría Agricultural Production Cooperative, in the municipality of Florida, with the purpose of exchanging with farmers and their families about the results and deficiencies of the food program in this sector.

The delegation reached the work sites of ranchers William Leyva Batista, Yoel González Cervantes, Juan Carlos Cedrés Sánchez and Arsenio Casas Cedrés, and also visited the living and planting spaces of Leonardo Tena Barreras and Eliécer Gómez Lafita.

In each place they talked about compliance with the milk plan, the management of the cattle mass and the promotion of various crops; on relations with contracting organizations, concerns and difficulties of farmers to materialize their social responsibility, and commitments for 2024.
