Florida, Aug 16.- Twelfth grade students from the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela Urban Pre-University Institute participated in a talk offered in the library of that institution to remember the heroic resistance offered by a group of Czechoslovak students to the Nazi troops in the streets of Prague in 1939, regarding Student’s Day to be celebrated on November 17.
Under the leadership of librarian Rosa Mora, the meeting became a space to highlight the prominence of Cuban youth and their performance, where the study and commitment to the legacy of student leaders such as Julio Antonio Mella and José Antonio Echeverría is an absolute priority.
The young people attending the talk agreed that in our country Student’s Day will always be a reason for joy, but also for reflection, reaffirmation and combat in defense of the achievements achieved by the people.
Student’s Day has been celebrated since 1940 in more than 100 nations to express the repudiation of fascism and all vestiges of Hitlerian barbarism.
