Florida, October 26.- With the presence of the highest political and government authorities in Florida, the event was held this Thursday for the 50th anniversary of the creation of the Sabino Pupo Milián Agricultural Polytechnic Institute (IPA), an educational institution founded on October 12, 1973.
The young Leonardo Casas Pérez, a student of Railway Maintenance and Repair at the center and president of the Federation of High School Students (FEEM) in Florida, read the commitments that guide student work.
Liliana Boudet Nápoles, first secretary of the Party, Evelyn Márquez Álvarez, president of the Municipal Assembly of Popular Power in the municipality and Wilfredo Acosta Valdés, secretary of the Union of Education, Science and Sports in Camagüey, awarded the Rafael María Medal of Mendive 10 educators with an outstanding career for more than 25 years of work.
Likewise, the occasion was opportune to present the center with the 60th Anniversary Commemorative Seal of the founding of the Education, Science and Sports Union and it was received by Yunior Vega Rivero, director of the IPA, from the hands of Raúl Cuesta López, head of the Department of Technical Education in the Directorate of Education in Camagüey.
At the ceremony for the half century of existence of the Sabino Pupo Milián Polytechnic, Ormandys Rodríguez Sánchez, Mayor of the municipality and Evelyn Márquez Álvarez, president of the governing body, were pleased to present recognitions to outstanding workers, directors and founding students, retirees who Professors who have fulfilled internationalist missions were reinstated to their jobs, and in a very special way Professor Mirtha Smith Preddee for her life’s work.
When delivering the final words of the event for the 50th Anniversary of the Sabino Pupo Milian Agricultural Polytechnic Institute, Yunior Vega Rivero, its director, recognized the unconditional support of different organizations for the educational institution during all these years of existence, led by the Party and the Government of the territory.
