Florida, September 20.- The board of directors of the Ignacio Agramonte Agroindustrial Sugar Company, of the Florida municipality, exchanged with the teachers and students of the Carlos Rodríguez Careaga primary school, in the rural community Las Marías, to reorganize the support of the sugarcane growers to the good performance of that educational institution.
The directors of the Agramonte company, accompanied by Leosdani Moredo Hurtado, a member of the municipal leadership of the Communist Party that serves the Agri-Food sphere, appreciated the construction situation of the school and learned details about the start of the new school year.
As a culmination of the meeting, they decided to contribute to guaranteeing snacks for the students, and ratified the commitment to sustain collaboration with the aforementioned student center through the Las Marías Basic Unit of Cooperative Production (UBPC).
«The children who study here are also the future of sugarcane and agricultural production in this area and it is up to us to be aware of their needs, improve their quality of life and foster attachment to the land where they were born.»
This was stated by José Luis Rodríguez González, general director of the aforementioned sugar agro-industrial entity, who adopted several decisions to support the Municipal Education Sector in the repair of the roof and painting of the teaching facility.
The Carlos Rodríguez Careaga Primary School in the rural Florida community of Las Marías operates under the multigrade classroom modality with an enrollment of eight preschool, third, fourth and fifth grade students, and opened its doors for the 2023-2024 school year with guarantees of teachers and the necessary resources to advance the educational teaching process and training of potential farmers in that region.
