Florida, Aug 31.- The Municipal Center for Hygiene, Epidemiology and Microbiology, together with the Directorate of the Territorial Station for the Protection of Plants and Plant Health, in Florida, confirmed the existence of the Giant African Snail in the territory, after completing the corresponding examinations to its identification, for which reason the Temporary Group for the prevention of molluscs was activated.
María Elena Estrada Agüero, director of Hygiene, explained that the species has been identified in some houses located on the North line street between Maceo and Carretera Central and to date more than 60 specimens have been collected.
