Florida sprinter on Cuban payroll to World Championships for seniors

Florida, Aug 8.- The inclusion of the Floridian athlete Yarima García Díaz in the list of the Cuban delegation of 21 athletes who will participate in the next World Athletics Championships for Seniors, scheduled for days from the 19th to the 27th of August, has already been made official. this August in Budapest, Hungary.

The 19-year-old sprinter is a member of the Cuban women’s relay of the 4 x 100 meter relay, the Antillean team that won the World Cup ticket in the most recent Central American Games San Salvador 2023, by winning this test with a record included for the regional competition .

For the runner from the municipality of Florida, it will be her debut in a World Championship for the senior category, since as a youth athlete last year she already had an international participation in the Under-20 event in Cali, Colombia, where she improved her personal bests and achieved reach the final of the 200 meter dash.

Floridian Yarima García Díaz was included in the Cuban delegation that will participate in the next Athletics World Cup in Budapest, Hungary, as part of the women’s short relay, another great sporting challenge and competitive opportunity, at the same time, for the young sprinter of this municipality.
