Florida, Dec 22.- Representatives of the Sugar Group and the AZCUBA business system in the province of Camagüey recognized the work of the Argentine Sugar Agroindustrial Company of the municipality of Florida in the recovery and dignification of the registered Seed Bank belonging to the aforementioned entity.
With nearly 90 hectares of productive surface, the Argentine seed bank fosters around 10 varieties of sugarcane on its land and has a selection garden where 16 clones of the grass are tested to verify their adaptation and performance properties. , to later extend them in the entity itself and in the cooperatives that surround it.
With 22 workers on the payroll, the group in question made similar progress in the recovery of its construction infrastructure, with the rehabilitation or construction of spaces such as the workers’ canteen, the thermal and chemical treatment plant, next to the training classroom, among others. .
The congratulations to the directors of the Argentine sugar agro-industrial company and to the workers and collaborators, engaged in the recovery of the registered Seed Bank located in that unit of AZCUBA in the municipality of Florida, also recognizes the achievements in terms of planting and production of various crops, despite the lack of water and the lack of an irrigation system capable of guaranteeing the survival of the plantations and the yield of the crops.
