Posthumous Tribute to Young Florida Musician José Alberto Reyes Luis (+Post)

Florida, February 3 – At the Florida municipal cemetery, family, friends, and members of the band Velito el Bufón gathered to pay a heartfelt posthumous tribute to the young Florida musician José Alberto Reyes Luis. The trombonist, only 26 years old, died in the early morning of January 17 as a result of a traffic accident, a tragedy that deeply shocked the artistic community and those who shared his life and talent with him.

During the tribute, a trumpet player from the group performed the emblematic melody «Cuando un amigo se va» (When a Friend Leaves), a gesture that added an even more emotional touch to the tribute. The music, which so often united José Alberto with his fellow musicians, resonated once again, this time as a farewell and a symbol of the lasting impact he had on those who knew him.

Despite currently being in Camagüey fulfilling professional commitments, the members of Velito el Bufón paused their activities to honor the memory of their colleague and friend. Their presence at the tribute reflected the deep respect and affection they felt for José Alberto, as well as the unity that characterizes the musical group.

At the time of the fatal accident, the young trombonist was traveling to Camagüey with his bandmates to perform. His unexpected passing leaves a void in the group, but also a legacy of dedication, talent, and camaraderie that will endure in everyone’s memory.
