Florida, Dec. 9 – The traditional opening parade of Florida Culture Week filled the city’s main streets with vitality and pride this Monday, December 8, as students from various schools participated in a colorful march that, starting from different points, converged on the central Paseo Martí.
Each participating educational institution showcased creative and unique initiatives for its presentation; some schools displayed choreographies inspired by local traditions, while others paraded with posters, banners, and crafts made by the students themselves, representing Florida symbols, historical figures, or elements of Cuban identity.
The diversity of visual displays, from traditional costumes to allegorical figures constructed from recycled materials, demonstrated the profound pedagogical work and commitment of teachers and students to research and honor their cultural heritage in a vibrant and participatory way.
Florida Culture Week runs until December 15, and students are formally invited to participate in the extensive program of activities.
Workshops, art exhibitions, theater and dance performances, literary gatherings, and historical knowledge sessions are planned, where students can deepen and demonstrate their skills.
