New drug dispensing system is strengthened and reinforced in Florida

Florida, April 3 – The new national schedule for the sale of medicines implemented in the network of pharmacies in the municipality of Florida is progressing satisfactorily, according to Mayelin Suárez Loyola, director of the Basic Business Unit (UEB) in charge of supervising the performance of this area of the Public Health system.

The official explained that even though there are still some misunderstandings and disagreements, the measure is gaining in popular recognition, shows advantages, such as the decrease in the number of coleros, and allows a better follow-up of the destination of the drugs arriving in the territory.

Although it is true that the monthly supply of the Empresa Comercializadora y Distribuidora de Medicamentos (EMCOMED) remains below the demand for drugs included in the control card, the staggered sale by doctor’s offices on different days of the week allows a greater reach of the drugs.

The director of the UEB Farmacias y Ópticas in the municipality of Florida also said that the conditions and results of the new system continue to be evaluated, with the willingness to improve everything that contributes to achieve greater transparency, discipline and satisfaction of the people.
