Florida, April 20 – The traditional museum exhibit, «To Refresh Your Gaze,» at the Florida Municipal Museum, allows visitors to closely examine shell casings from cannon fire during the historic Battle of Playa Girón.
The fragments on display, preserved as historical evidence, allow visitors to appreciate the firepower used by the invading forces in 1961; each casing is a tangible trace of one of the decisive episodes in the defense of the Cuban Revolution.
The cultural institution dedicates this exhibit to commemorating the 65th anniversary of the Victory at Playa Girón, remembering the courage of the combatants and the significance of that feat for the country’s sovereignty.
The exhibit will be open to the public until the end of April, inviting visitors to revisit history from a close and reflective perspective.
