Florida, March 20 – The Temporary Working Group of the Party and Government in the municipality of Florida analyzed the progress of essential services to the population and the disruptions to these services during the current period.
During the meeting, it was reported that only two of the 12 planned photovoltaic energy supply systems remain to be installed in the same number of key locations throughout the territory.
Regarding the water shortage from the Caonao Dam pumping station in various parts of the city of Florida, Water and Sewerage officials reiterated that it is due to breakdowns in motors two and five, a problem they are working intensively to repair with the support of entities within the sugar industry.
On this same issue, it was reported that 10 water turbines located in different communities remain out of service, requiring the use of water trucks to supply drinking water to the affected populations. During the meeting, efforts were made to address electrical service outages affecting registered customers in the southern part of the municipality, a complex task that, it was stated, demands organization, comprehensiveness, and urgency under the current circumstances.
The most recent meeting of the Temporary Working Group of administrative and political authorities in Florida focused on ensuring food supplies for the more than 360 children enrolled in the municipality’s childcare centers, for the 15 Family Assistance programs distributed throughout urban and rural areas, and for other social consumption programs.
The meeting also addressed the continued distribution of rice, cigarettes, and sugar from the subsidized food basket in areas where these resources are still pending.
The meeting of the Florida Temporary Working Group was attended by Roberto Conde Silverio, a member of the Provincial Party Bureau, along with Elvis Pérez Olivera, the government’s program coordinator for that level.
