Responsible Parenthood Campaign Begins in Florida

Florida, February 9 – With the goal of raising awareness and dismantling stereotypes about family roles, activities planned for the Responsible Parenthood Campaign, organized by the National Center for Sex Education (CENESEX), will begin in Florida.

As planned, the activities will take place starting on the 13th of this month in the municipality’s educational sector to promote a contemporary and egalitarian view of parenthood.

José Andrés Vázquez, School Health Methodologist at the General Directorate of Education in Florida, reported that the campaign will have the support of the local Prosalud Center and will be launched at the José Martí Pérez Urban Basic Secondary School (ESBU) with a special morning assembly.

During the campaign, special morning assemblies, community meetings, panels, contests, and spaces for reflection will be held. The activities, which include the celebration of significant dates such as Valentine’s Day and Family Day, will take place in middle and high school educational institutions.

One of the major challenges this initiative addresses is building a social consciousness where motherhood and fatherhood have equal standing; the ultimate goal is to contribute to the full development of the family and encourage both mothers and fathers to embrace their roles with enthusiasm and responsibility in raising their children.
