Urban Agriculture work in Florida recognized at the provincial level

Florida, December 29 – The municipality of Florida received provincial recognition for the results achieved in the Urban, Suburban, and Family Agriculture Program during 2025.

During that period, the territory was visited three times by the National Group overseeing this productive movement and received positive evaluations for the performance of the urban farm and its local facilities.

Promoting the planting of vegetables, root crops, and fresh herbs was a primary objective of the Municipal Administration Council and the Agro-industrial Enterprise during this phase, based on monitoring and ensuring compliance with the task in each People’s Council.

The recognition of Florida as one of the three municipalities in the province that stand out in the work of Urban, Suburban and Family Agriculture, along with Guáimaro and the city of Camagüey, constitutes an incentive for hundreds of farmers who cultivate the land and obtain fruits, day after day, in farms, orchards and productive patios of this region.
