Damayantis Brague Garcia, a dream-restoring educator in Florida

Florida, December 26 – Teacher’s Day served to recognize the work of those who shape the future from the classroom; among them, Damayantis Brage García, principal of the Enrique José Varona Elementary School, received the «Dream-Repairing Guide» award, granted by the José Martí Pioneer Organization.

Her journey in the education sector began in the municipality of Carlos Manuel de Céspedes, as a teacher.

After arriving in Florida, her career was a ladder of responsibilities and learning; from teaching at the Alfredo Álvarez Mola School, she spent a year as principal, coordinator, and then served as principal for four years at the Camilo Cienfuegos School.

This journey culminated in her leadership of the Enrique José Varona School, where today the work of an organized, experienced, and enthusiastic team stands out, their results a product of shared effort.

Damayantis Brage defines teaching as the most demanding, yet most beautiful, profession in the world. It is the satisfaction of knowing that one worked for something worthwhile, a philosophy that explains why, more than a director, Damayantis Brage García is, essentially, a restorer of dreams.
