The Government’s Temporary Group debated issues that impact the satisfaction and protection of the people

Florida, December 18 – The limitations of the Florida Electric Business Unit in urgently addressing network outages and customer demands were a topic of discussion in the Party and Government Temporary Working Group.

According to the top representative of this state entity, they currently have only one truck and a shortage of linemen and resources, which reduces their capacity to resolve, with the usual speed, all reports of local power outages, both on primary distribution lines and in residential areas.

The extraordinary body established here to manage the municipality’s main tasks in the current situation also reviewed the actions taken to combat arboviruses and specifically examined the completion of the targeted adulticide treatment cycle in infected homes and city blocks.

In this regard, Dr. Ennis González Carrazana reported that approximately fifty homes were closed to fumigation and commented that on Monday, more than twelve investigations were carried out to detect fever symptoms in the at-risk population.

The presence of a high number of small illegal dumpsites, sewage spills due to clogged drains, and water leaks continue to create breeding grounds for the mosquito that transmits dengue, chikungunya, and other viruses—a complex reality that has been awaiting an effective response for several years.

Even though the authorities are committed to addressing these problems, the resource constraints imposed by the imperialist blockade, the limited availability of both general and specialized labor, institutional and collective indiscipline, and failures in surveillance and public reporting remain key factors in the worsening of numerous situations currently affecting Florida.
