Hundreds of Florida children start their lives as Pioneers (+Post)

Florida, 9 Oct.- The morning of this Wednesday 8 October was different for hundreds of children from the municipality of Florida who are attending the first grade whose parents or other close relatives tied the blue scarf to their neck, Attribute that now identifies them as members of the Organization of Pioneers José Martí, in its stage Moncadista.

Simultaneously in all elementary schools of the country this process was carried out which constitutes a tradition of family pride, and becomes a pioneer party; in the particular case of Florida, In addition, the provincial initiation act was carried out to form an organization that brings together Cuban children and adolescents from first to ninth grade.

On this date full of historical symbolism coincides with the anniversary of the arrest and subsequent murder of Commander Ernesto Che Guevara in the Bolivian jungle and marks the beginning of the day of homage to the legendary guerrilla fighter and his comrade in arms Camilo Cienfuegos, physically disappeared on October 28.

At these events, the children also received the badge and insignia accrediting them as members of the Pioneer Explorers’ Movement, and the Vocational Training course was inaugurated on the 50th anniversary of the creation of the Circles of Interest, with a municipal exhibition where the pioneers of elementary and secondary education showcased their creations.

Due to the results of the organization’s work in previous courses, a ceremony was held at José Martí Park in the city of Florida to launch the Pioneer Organization on a provincial basis, which was chaired by representatives of the Party Bureau, the Union of Young Communists and the Directorate of Education in Camagüey, together with their counterparts in the territory.

From today and until the end of third grade, the children who add to their school uniform the blue bandoleta will begin their activities with the motto «By the route of Martí, and the guide of Fidel, for the Homeland and Socialism: Moncadistas always ready!.
