Florida, September 29 – Under the slogan «Let’s end teen pregnancy,» Florida ProSalud specialists held an exchange with students from the Agustín Farabundo Martí Urban Basic Secondary School (ESBU) in the municipality about the consequences of pregnancy when the child has not reached the psychological and biological age of majority.
The meeting, included in the program of activities planned for Teenage Pregnancy Prevention Week, established by the Pan American Health Organization, featured participatory games and dramatizations that illustrated the real physical and emotional consequences of conceiving children at an early age.
Health specialists from the municipality of Florida gave educational talks with a similar purpose in other institutions in the territory and in the communities, as the battle against teen pregnancy requires a joint effort to guarantee a safer future with greater opportunities for the new generations.
Teenage Pregnancy Prevention Week in Latin America and the Caribbean is celebrated from September 16 to 22.
Similarly, September 26 is the day chosen to prevent teenage pregnancy, with the goal of informing and promoting responsible behavior, self-care, and self-responsibility among younger generations.
