Florida, 24 Sep.- The National Exercise to strengthen the rejection of drugs, in force since 22 September, has as its central objective the prevention of the consumption of harmful substances within the educational sector.
As explained by the Master’s Arián García, deputy director of the Education Sector in the municipality of Florida, the fundamental intention is to prepare the management structures, workers, students and in a crucial way, to families to foster attitudes of rejection towards drugs and promote norms of behavior aligned with the ethical and moral principles of the socialist society that is being built in Cuba.
The actions planned for the week cover all educational levels and are adapted to the characteristics of each age. The exercise is implemented from early childhood and involves workers and families, to primary and special education, where it focuses on fifth and sixth grades; also extends to basic secondary, pre-university and youth and adult education, where work is carried out in all groups and detachments on the basis of specific diagnoses.
The implementation of this plan has multisectoral support that is key to its effectiveness.
García highlighted coordination with Party authorities, the Government, the Ministry of the Interior, the Public Prosecutor’s Office, Public Health, the Union of Young Communists, the University Student Federation and the Committees for the Defense of the Revolution, with which training spaces and neighbourhood debates will be held.
