The forces of the Ministry of the Interior of the Republic of Cuba (MININT) were created with the supreme decision to defend the Homeland and its interests; to keep it free, sovereign, integrated and protected from all ignominy, with men and women of the people, each one of them with the audacity, courage and determination to commit their lives to the tasks and missions that correspond to them.
That army has fought and is now facing, 64 years after its creation, great challenges, assuming important roles in a complex Cuban society, with internal problems derived from a crisis caused, fundamentally, by the aggressive, terrorist and criminal policy of the government of the United States against this small country.
The work of the Ministry of the Interior includes various activities aimed at preserving people’s lives and the tranquility of citizens, combating crime, the proper functioning of traffic, permanent care of Cuba’s borders, extinguishing fires and dealing with landslides and other tragic contingencies or unavoidable events of natural origin.
In each one of these assignments are enlisted people committed and affected by the same needs and shortages suffered by the rest of the population, but they continue standing up, fulfilling their daily duty under any circumstance, with a revolutionary ethic that differentiates them from the world, and with the pride of being in the first trench of combat against imperialism and for the welfare of millions.
To them: officers and combatants, veterans and new pines, eternal gratitude; respect and consideration in the current situation; pride to count them among us, and congratulations for the new birthday of the organization that groups them.
64 years after the constitution of the MININT, the Homeland proudly contemplates them.
