Florida, May 30 – Floridian farmer Jorge Hernández Mesa, linked to the Basic Unit of Cooperative Production (UBPC) Mártires de Florida and an outstanding member of the Movement of Advanced Producers in this municipality, defends, in the current stage, a significant group of commitments that broaden his contribution to the local agri-food program.
After gathering around 126 tons of food, grains and fruits in the previous calendar, for the current stage this young man of tireless will proposed to deliver more than 11 thousand liters of milk to the industry and strengthen the pace in the planting of rice, cassava, banana, pumpkin and sugar cane, among other items.
He is currently working in the harvesting of fruit bombs, removing the soil and providing cultural care to the established crops, while waiting for the rains to make new plantations on his farm La Avanzada, adjacent to the town of Vista Alegre in the Conquista Popular Council.
Jorge Hernandez Mesa, (Jorgito as he is known by his close friends) has only one complaint regarding the lack of arms to promote peremptory actions in his huge agricultural area; but at the same time he speaks with optimism about the poultry project he started with a view to egg production and the commitment to obtain larger volumes of food to sell to the people and support the diet in social institutions in the municipality of Florida.
