Straightening the way for milk, a strategic mission in the municipality

Florida, May 30 – More than 300 thousand liters of milk are owed to the dairy industry by the farmers of the municipality of Florida in a campaign where up to date they should have delivered around one and a half million units of this foodstuff.

Phenomena such as the diversion of production, deficiencies and omissions in the contracting process, failures in the collection, incidence of Brucella disease in some herds, deficient administrative control in the production base and delays in the payment to cowboys by the Empresa Comercializadora de Productos Lácteos (Dairy Products Commercialization Company) mark the course of cow milk in the territory.

In April alone, for various reasons, a total of 238 farmers failed to meet their commitments to the municipality, while in the same period, another 60 did not report sales figures in the accumulated milk plan for the current year.

Among the actions aimed at recovering in Florida the ground lost in the milk campaign and advancing in the proposed objective, are the comprehensive control visits to the farms of non-compliant farmers, the analysis of the issue in the Agricultural Affairs Commission of the municipality and the imposition of fines in cases where violations of the contract, disorder and mismanagement of the mass and the result of milking are demonstrated.
