Farmers of Piti Fajardo cooperative analyze the results of the control of this productive base.

Analizan campesinos de la cooperativa Piti Fajardo resultados del control a esa base productiva

Florida, April 17 – “The actions of control and confrontation to the distortions in the agricultural sphere of Florida do not constitute an indiscriminate attack to the producers: they go against the indiscipline, the breach of duty and the disorder that put at risk the prestige of the sector and the food security of all the people”.

This was emphasized by Yudier Peña Vargas, Vice Superintendent of the Municipal Administration Council during the general assembly of associates of the Manuel Piti Fajardo Credit and Service Cooperative (CCS), whose members analyzed the negative results and the measures derived from the recent governmental control of milk production in that peasant entity.

“Without the daily effort of the cowboys and planters, in the midst of shortages and difficulties, it would be impossible to advance in search of the results we desire”; added the official in charge of agriculture and Azcuba issues in the local government, who also recognized the commitment expressed by those gathered to eliminate the current defaults in the delivery of milk to the industry and to plant 22 hectares of various crops in the spring campaign. Among the agreements approved at the general assembly of associates at the Manuel Piti Fajardo CCS, in the municipality of Florida, were to improve the role of the Board of Directors in representing the farmers at all levels; to review pending land tenure procedures that have an impact on the productive results; to periodically check the state of the cattle mass and to raise the demand for the realization of the food order in each farm.
