Florida, April 8 – The men and women involved in aquaculture fishing in the municipality of Florida carried out various activities in honor of April 8, Fishing Industry Workers’ Day, with favorable results.
Among the main actions were the repair and painting of the interior of the industry, cleaning and decoration of the surroundings, as well as the recognition of men and women with more than 20 and 25 years of work in the company, as a reward for the time dedicated to the extractive or industrial activity.
In salute to the date, the collective fulfilled one hundred percent of its union commitments, with its contribution to the Homeland and the delivery of the contribution, and also committed, as usual, to participate in the parade for May 1st, International Proletariat Day.
At present, the industrial processing collective ensures productive linkages with local companies such as Pesca en Playa Florida and the La Reina Local Development Project, and the leading role of the innovators stands out, whose actions contribute to solve the difficulties they face on a daily basis.
Since 1972, every April 8 is celebrated in Cuba the Day of the Fishing Industry Worker, and the fishermen of the municipality of Florida celebrate the date with the commitment to work to guarantee food for population.
