Provincial Event for the Day of the Cultural Workers held in Florida (+Post and Photo)

Florida, Dec. 19 – Cuban culture maintains its lineage as the shield and sword of the nation and this was demonstrated by the affiliates of this union in the municipality of Florida during 2024, in a close link with the people and results that earned it the status of Vanguard at the provincial level.

That distinction was given to the territory in the provincial ceremony for the Day of the Culture Worker. Awards were also given to the municipalities of Sierra de Cubitas, Esmeralda and Camagüey in the category of Outstanding in the stage that concludes.

The event, tinged with the participation of local artistic talent, served as a framework to impose the Raúl Gómez García Distinction on the chest of three workers with a trajectory of 20 and 25 years of uninterrupted work in the Camagüey culture sector, and seven other representatives of the union received diplomas for their integral performance in different base syndicate sectors.

On the same day, the municipal leadership of the Central de Trabajadores de Cuba (CTC) praised the actions of its counterpart in local Culture.

The celebration ceremony for the Culture Workers’ Day, held in the municipality of Florida, was presided over by Yaimir Victoria Basulto, head of the Ideological Department of the Provincial Committee of the Party and Yanisleydis López Fernández, General Secretary of the CTC in the province of Camagüey.

In the central words of the event, Leonardo Calderon Castro, secretary general of the provincial bureau of the Union of Cultural Workers thanked the effort made this year in the midst of many difficulties to defend the various modes of cultural work, and assured that the grouping he leads will continue to put the heart in every task of the Homeland.

The meeting, which also paid tribute to the 93rd anniversary of the birth of Raul Gomez Garcia, assailant of the Moncada Barracks and martyr of the sector, was also attended by the highest political authorities and the Floridian government, along with representatives of various institutions and areas of the work of culture in this Agramontina demarcation.
