Floridian ranchers urged to comply with meat stockpiling plan

Florida, June 28th – The Municipal Administration Council, together with the Unidad Empresarial de Base (UEB) Empacadora Tomás Rojas Rodríguez, called upon the cattle farmers of the territory to comply in time with the delivery of the contracted meats to guarantee the production destined to the regulated family food basket.

This call was made during the government’s weekly meeting with presidents of agricultural cooperatives and stockpiling organizations, where it was reported that, of the 36 tons of beef to be processed by the packing plant in June, only 23 have been received, which means only 64% of compliance with the plan.

The general director of the packing plant, Tomás Rojas Rodríguez, said that efforts are being made at the base to urgently recover part of the pending cattle, with the objective of completing the delivery of meat diets to the Floridian population and other neighboring municipalities.

Producing food for the people remains the main mission of farmers and ranchers in this municipality, and it is not for nothing that the collection of beef and other species occupies a strategic place among the agricultural productions that contribute to food sovereignty and nutritional security of thousands of people in this Camagüey area.
