About 23 New Haitian Scholarship Holders Leave for Cuba Port-au-Prince, Aug 25 - About 23 new Haitian ssholarship holders are now ready to travel to Cuba, where they will take studies on medicine, engineering and economics, among other specialties.

 

The farewell ceremony was held at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Worship, in which Secretary of State, Henry Robert Sterlin, stressed the importance of education for the country's progress.

On the other hand, Education Minister, Nesmy Manigat, invited the scholarship holders to thank the country that will help them to prepare as professionals once their undergraduate studies have been culminated.

He also praised the work made by Cuban ambassador, Ricardo Garcia Naples, who has contributed to the development of cooperation, particularly in the field of education.

On the other hand, the Cuban diplomat applauded the fruitful cooperation between the two countries, and recalled the contribution provided to Haiti, above all in the training of doctors, engineers, and other professionals.

Garcia also invited young people to take seriously their future studies, in order to honor the efforts made by both countries.(Prensa Latina)
