Havana, Dec 10 - Cuban Grand Master Leinier Dominguez is ready to face a new chess challenge in the World Mind Games, which begin Thursday in Beijing.

"Although it is not a classic rythm, I am very lively and I prepared to play well. It will be a long tournament level and we all try to do our best," told to the sports weekly Jit, the fourteenth -ranked player with average Elo 2.754 points.
Dominguez, winner this year of the Grand Prix Thessaloniki, Greece, will face 16 quality rivals, including Russian Sergey Karjakin and Alexander Grischuk, Armenian Levon Aronian, Azeri Mamedyarov Shakhriyar, Ukrainian Ruslan Ponomariov and French Maxime Vachier-Lagrave.
The competition includes rapid games, the Blitz and the lesser known Basque mode (every match in two simultaneous panels).
To the participation of Dominguez in China, says the weekly Jit, joins that of several of his compatriots in the renowned Mexican event Carlos Torre, scheduled from 13 to 20 in the city of Mérida.
GM Lazaro Bruzon, winner in 2005, leds the group that also integrate other members of the last Olympic team as Isam Ortiz and Yuniesky Quesada, champion in 2003.
Also will compete the defending champion Aryam Abreu, Yuri González , Diasmany Otero, Juan Carlos Obregon and Carlos Hevia.
