Cuban Academic Exchanges with USA Are in Good Time

Cuban Academic Exchanges with USA Are in Good Time Havana, Dec 9 - Cuban academic exchanges with the United States, although they aren't free of problems, are in good time, said Milagros Martinez, advisor of the International Relations direction at the University of Havana, cited by Granma newspaper today.

Martinez, who has been dedicated for more than 30 years to analyze these issues, explained there are two semester programs, started in 2000, between both countries, which have enabled some 2,000 U.S. undergraduates to enroll in the capital's education center.

According to the official, another modality are short courses, which could last one week, 15 days, or one month, in which "a group of students comes with a teacher and a lecture cycle is designed."

To give legal support, the University of Havana has signed 37 agreements with U.S. universities, she said.
