Anniversary of Venezuela-Cuba Health Agreement Marked Caracas, Dec 3 - More than 58,000 people treated and 11,400 major surgical operations were highlighted as results of the comprehensive health agreement Venezuela-Cuba, the 13th anniversary of which was marked today in this capital.

 

In a ceremony at White Palace, in Caracas, Doctor Pedro Francisco Llerena, Director of the Havana-based International Health Center La Pradera, where many Venezuelans got free treatment as part of this bilateral agreement, revealed that 439 flights carried Venezuelans to get treatment in Havana in the past 13 years, and more than 10,000 professionals from 46 Cuban health facilities have been involved in this initiative, with solidarity and humanism as essential values.

Venezuelan presidential official Wilmer Barrientos said that this agreement is not limited to health care, as it also offers an example of Latin Americanism, pointing out "a road to real integration and union of the peoples."
