Cuba Hosts Intercontinental Psychology Event

Havana, Dec 2 - The Intercontinental Convention on Psychology, Hominis 2013, begins today at the Conference Center in this capital, with more than 50 pre-congress courses that will be taught during two days by experienced Cuban and foreign professionals.

 

The event, organized by the Cuban Association of Psychology, will include lectures, panel discussions, symposiums, posters, and videos on topics, such as human development and subjectivity, identity and diversity, society, family, gender, and the elderly.

Other issues will discuss psychologies applied in health, education, culture, sports, organizations, communications, social institutions, and disasters.

Psychological theories and their relationship to other sciences will be also discussed, in addition to training and profession of psychologists.

This convention involves about 26 events. They are sponsored by the Latin American Union of Psychology Organizations, the Latin American Association for the Training and Teaching of Psychology, the Latin American Association of Health Psychology, and the Russian Psychological Society, among other institutions of the region and Latin America.

Also on the list are the representations in Cuba from the Pan-American Health Organization (PAHO/WHO), the UN Population Fund, and the UNICEF.
