French Travel Agents to Visit Villa Clara’s Tourist Area

SANTA CLARA, Cuba, Nov 29 - Representatives of French tourist and travel agencies will arrive on Friday in this city’s Abel Santamaria International Airport with the purpose of familiarize themselves with important Cuban tourist areas.
The visitors’ program will begin with tours of the cities of Santa Clara and Remedios, the latter being the 8th villa founded by the Spaniards on the island, where they will get acquainted with their history, culture and facilities destined to lodging and recreation.
Jesus Diaz-Canel, director of the National Tourist Information Office (INFOTUR) in Villa Clara province, explained that the travelers will go to Santa Maria Cay, a developing area composed of three sandy islets joined to solid ground by a causeway over the sea.
The promoters of part of the French tourist market will visit the hotels and other facilities and attractions offered by Cuban entities located in the beautiful holiday resorts of northeast Villa Clara, he added.
According to the program, the tour operators and travel agents will then go to Trinidad to know the beauties of this old city, to Cienfuegos and to the Varadero beach resort. They will end their journey in Havana, where they will conclude their stay in Cuba On December 5.
